作物缺乏微量元素的主要原因是土壤中有效性的微量元素含量太低,其次是由于离子抗拮关系而诱发作物缺乏微量元素。影响土壤中微量元素有效性的主要因素是土壤pH值,在中性以上的条件下,硼、锌、铁、锰、铜的有效性下降,有可能使作物缺乏这些微量元素,所以石灰性土壤容易出现硼、锌、铁缺素症;在酸性的情况下以上微量元素的有效性较高,但在南方由于雨水较多,容易淋失,特别是砂性较大的土壤也会出现这些微量元素缺乏症;在施用石灰较多的情况下,也有可能诱发作物出现缺素症。此外,在酸性红壤上钼的有效性低,有可能出现缺钼症;而在中性以上的土壤中钼的有效性提高,一般不会缺钼。
